Global gay Muslims meet

Lesbian and gay Muslims from across the globe will meet at a conference next weekend, in a bid to tackle problems associated with faith and sexuality. Representatives from the UK, South Africa, Australia and Canada will attend the meeting, which has been organised by US-based Al-Fatiha. Those behind it hope the _retreat_ will help forge overseas links for gay Muslims, who say they are struggling to see acceptance amongst both their faith-based and gay communities. It will be hosted in Atlanta, USA and feature speeches and discussion groups on the issues of sexuality and "gender oppression".
