Transgressing boundaries is a hallmark of queer theory and research. The analysis of boundary transgressions is usually framed as the purview of culture, with living and non-living matter figured as the stubborn, inert, _outside_ to transgressive potential. This short paper aims to suggest nonlinear biology as a potent lens with which to explore particular boundary transgressions associated with queer theory including the autonomy of the self, embodiment and sexual difference.
