Gays and lesbians in Moldova are organizing against homophobia (e.g. hate speech from a member of the national parliament) and are receiving support from around Europe and members of the European Parliament. The Dutch COC is also working with the Moldovan Center GenderDoc-M, the Moldovan gay and lesbian organization, on a new project ("Moldovan Gay and Lesbian Empowerment") to protect gay and lesbian rights.
