This investigation profiles the process of the disclosure of stigmatizing information. THe study attempted to identify communication strategies that people employ in order to minimize the chances of rejection from the recipient of disclosure. Also, the study aimed at identifying factors which influence strategy selection and assessing the effect which various strategies have on the outcome of the disclosure episode. One final aspect of the Investigation focused on the relationship between health variables (AIDS) and the willingness to disclose stigmatizing information.
