Pahichan Radio and Understanding : the rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex (LGBTI) in Nepal, a brief report

This Survey aims to generate knowledge and understanding about Lesbian, Gay, Transgender, and Intersex (LGBTI). Based on findings, the survey also presented recommendations to Radio and promote the rights of LGBTI in Nepal. Quantity as well as qualities questionnaires were used with convenience sampling for data collection from Kanchanpur, Kailali, Bardiya, Banke, Rupendehi, Makawanpur, Dhanusha, Bhaktapur, Kathmandu, Saptari, Sunsari, Sarlhai Jhapa districts were selected as data collection sites with LGBTI as well as with other stakeholders including policy makers, parents, media as tools for such data collection. The findings of the survey have highlighted the importance of Radio Pahichan and its effectiveness on understanding the issues of LGBTI in Nepal. Further, it has tried to hunch the reflection of LGBTI in general public.
