Much of the earlier research on the psychological adjustment of male homosexual reported a poor psychological adjustment. More recent studies have demonstrated serious threats to the validity of this earlier research. The present study conducted on 178 homosexual males indicated that development of a homosexual identity is a process which is gradually acquired over time and which is accompanied by a nummer of changes in the behavior and attitudes of the repondents.
