A prostitute plies her trade at the bar. Bored expatriates mark time over drinks. Overseeing this PArisian demi-monde is Nicole, the steely chanteuse who sings of romance. When murder shatters the easy-going ambience of her club, it's up to Hooper Taliaferro and his redoubtable visitor Dr. Mary Finney to untangle the web of dublicity, intrigue, and passion surrounding the patrons of this raffish boite in the city of lights.
