Onder de naam Zhang Zaizhou publiceerde Zhang Jie: Aimei de licheng. He carries on with this new collection of articles. As a curator at Beijing national Library, he is in an excellent position to browse through "the remote recesses in the forest of books", unearthing a new harvest of interesting and numerous documents, emphasising pictorial art. He drives deeper into themes he already explored in his first opus, being a talented and pioneer historian and philologist in the study of male love and lesbiansm in Chinese history.
