Lesbian Quarters : On Building Space, Identity, Institutional Memory and Resources
E. Dykewomon
The author considers the history of difficulties in building community, identified as the strain of multiple community allegiances and lack of resources, along with the problem of institutional memory. The nature of religion is explored as a possible model for what lesbian communities need to incorporate. What lesbians have done, in terms of creating a moral base which acknowledges the reality of multiple identities, is defined an evolutionary step forward, which now needs a new commitment to build physical spaces in which we can develop.[Copies are available from: Haworth Document Delivery Center.
