
Beaten to death for being gay : gang attacks barman who survied Soho pub bomb. Four beatings in just 15 minutes by group of teenagers lying in wait for West End clubbers in early hours

As barman at the Admiral Duncan in Soho, David Morley survived the nail bomb attack at this gay bar in 1999, only to be beaten to death by a gang of teenagers on 31 October at 3.30 am. near London's Hungerford Bridge as he and a friend walked home from the Heaven nightclub nearby. Morley dead of multiple injuries to his head and torso later that morning in hospital, while his friend suffered minor injuries. Before them at 3.15 am. and at 3.25 am. the same gang gay bashed three other men. In the past 12 months the number of homophobic attacks in London has risen by more than 10 per cent.
