Women reported sentenced to death for lesbianism in Somalia
In the autonomous region of Puntland in Somalia, two women were reported to have been sentenced to death for "unnatural behavior." Human rights organizations expressed concern and were investigating, although they also allowed for the possibility that the report out of Mogadishu was untrue and a politically motivated attempt to embarrass local authorities in Puntland.
