Annual review of lesbian, gay, and bisexual issues in European psychology, Volume 1

M. Steffens, U. Biechele, B. Eschmann, J. Schippers, S. Melle, A. Coyle

In the USA, gay lesbian, and bisexual issues in psychology have become an important line of research, and the number of such studies being published has grown exponentially. In the meantime, European research still remains invisible. However, there are quite a number of researchers doing work in the area. With the present edition, the president and the vice-president of the Association of Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual Psychologies (ALGBP) Europe, Melanie Steffens and Ulrich Biechele, want to make an effort to increase the circulation of high-quality research the subject of which is related to lesbian, gay, and bisexual issues in psychology and, at the same time, related to Europe. Many of the contributors are well-known in their own country and language, but have not published much internationally. The chapters of the current volume focus on heterosexism in psychology in general, and in therapy training in particular; on identity issues for gay men and lesbians; on working-class gay men; and on gender issues in North American Indian Cultures.
