The medicalization of gender : how the medical discourse of transsexuality and intersexuality in the Netherlands contributes to the third space
M. Kelterborn
In evaluating the effects that the medical establishment has on gender it is important to look through the lens of the third space -- a space that is often erased. With the support of interviews with transsexual, transgender, and intersex individuals, and the support of recent medical literature, this research explores how the medical discourse of transsexuality and intersexuality in the Netherlands contributes to the third space.
