Maryfield academy
C. Tomaso
A darkly comic tale about a Catholic girls' school in the process of going mad. It all starts with a series of anonymous notes accusing English teacher Sally Hamington of making sexual advances to one of her students. Even though the accusation isnt taken seriously, theres no doubt that half the campus hates Sally enough to want to see her fired. The cast of characters is filled with seemingly harmless eccentrics like Sister Rose James, the rosy-cheeked Dean of Discipline who spends her spare time in bondage chat rooms on the Internet; Helen Blalock, the nymphomaniac Head of School whose voracious appetites encompass food, cigarettes, and the sexy forensic psychologist on the case; and Alice Todesco, a lonely rich girl who cuts herself and dreams of Miss Harrington, her tenth grade teacher. Another English teacher, Angela Martin, has the most to lose at Maryfield because not only does she hate Sally Hamington, but she's also talked about it to anybody who'll listen. Because of the pressures placed on her by the investigators as a suspect, Angela decides to solve the crimes herself, with the help of a couple of student sleuths who are too smart for their own good.
