The invisible writing : being the second volume of Arrow in the Blue : an autobiography

Arthur Koestler

"The invisbile Writing closes the cycle of Arthur Koestler's autobiography. He has described it as 'the typical case-history of a member of the Central-European educated middle classes, born in the first years of our century'. The three earlier autobiographical books by Arthur Koestler, in an edition uniform with The Invisible Writing, are Dialoge with Death, Scum of the Earth and Arrow in the Blue. Dialogue with Death deals with the author's imprisonment under sentence of death in the Spanish Civil War; Scum of the Earth with his adventures in the Second World War, his experiences in various concentration camps, and as a member of the French Foreign Legion. Arrow in the Blue describes his childhood and youth, up to his joining the Communist Party at the age of twenty-six - the point at which the narrative of The Invisible Writing begins".
