J.J. Polanco
This research analyzes the emergence and development of the LGBTQ movement in the Dominican Republic from a historical and sociopolitical perspective. It examines the Dominican LGBTQ movement from the 1980's to the present in the context of a classist, racist, sexist, lesbo/homophobic society led by post-authoritarian governments in a clerical Judeo-Christian state where the Catholic hierarchy oversees, judges and controls the people's sexual, cultural, political, military and religious live.
