Study on Violence Against LGBTQ Individuals

The main purpose of this quantitative study is the production of statistics for: 1) measuring the frequency of verbal, psychological, physical and sexual violence perpetrated against LGBT individuals in their different living environments : public spaces, health structures, academic life, professional life, internet networks and means of communication, relationships with family and relatives, no matter who the violence perpetrator might be; 2) analyzing situations of economic, institutional and social contexts of violence, and in particular, objectifying the relationships between legal and social violence, and 3) analyzing the consequences of violence on physical and mental health and on the access to goods and fundamental socio-economic services (health, employment, education, housing). After the description of the methodology of the study, this report will expose the main results, highlighting the systematic nature of violence, while the different mediatized cases might lead us to think that these are exclusively individual and isolated cases.
