Nita grew up with the fame and drug abuse of her rock superstar mother, Gina Wilde. Now aunt Jane, lesbian talk show host, wants Nita to be part of a show that will dispel the myths about her mother's life and untimely death. As Nita reluctantly re-examines the painful relationship with her mother, she is forced to claim her own identity as a young butch, and rise above tabloid gossip to claim the woman she loves.
