Michel Cattier divides Reich's life & work into two distinct periods. The 1st, from 1897 to 1934, includes his activities as a traditional psychoanalyst & member of the International Psychoanalytic Association. In 1934 he was expelled from the International Psychoanalytic Association & moved to Norway, where he became affiliated with the University of Oslo as lecturer & researcher. Cattier's book is devoted almost exclusively to Reich's writings during the 1st period.
