The volume features an unpublished short novel and three unpublished stories from the literary legacy of John Henry Mackay (1864-1933). Written shortly before Mackay's death, three of these works continue the individual anarchist ideas that Mackay laid down in his major works. The fourth work shows Mackay from another side, namely as a crime author. The editor's introduction discusses Mackay's life and work as well as the social, political, and philosophical foundations of his writings, thus leading to a better understanding of the texts presented.
