This study analysed whether stigmatization by peers is associated with depressive and anxious feelings in adolescents who were raised by lesbian mothers from birth, and if so, whether parental preparation on stigmatization moderates this relationship. Sixty-seven adolescents and their mothers completed online questionnaires on stigmatization (adolescents), depression and anxiety (adolescents and mothers), and preparation on stigmatization (adolescents). Results showed that stigmatization by peers was positively related to adolescents' depressive and anxious feelings. Parental preparation was no moderator. In conclusion, this study did not clarify what could reduce this negative outcome on stigmatization. Additional implications and application are mentioned. More research is needed.
