Line on Ginger

Robin Maugham

James Merton, returning to his flat from an evening of London nightclubbing, discovers a man stealing his silverware. Merton recognizes him as Ginger Edwards who had been in his squadron in the Western Desert during the last war. The strange fascination of this incident compels Merton to undertake a search for the ex-soldier, partly knowing that he is searching for a clue to himself. His quest extends both inward and outward, bringing him face to face with the fragmented society of the post war world and the dark complexities of human emotion.
