This paper reflects on what citizenship education means in the area of sex and sexuality in the United Kingdom. Among other things it states that the pedagogy of insufficient sex education leads to sexual ignorance and sometimes to homophobia and heterosexism within youth, that leads to prejudice against lesbian and gay youth.
